Common faults of throttle body position sensor The throttle body position sensor can be used to detect the throttle body opening to determine the engine operating condition and load level. In automatic transmission vehicles, it can provide a throttle body opening signal for it. The throttle body position sensor is a friction component and also a vulnerable part. When it or its wiring is poor, the following faults may occur:
1. The most common malfunction of the throttle body position sensor is that the engine is prone to stalling while the vehicle is in motion, making it difficult to start the engine during cruising or departure.

3. Improper installation and adjustment of the throttle body position sensor may result in the idle switch not closing when the throttle body is fully closed, or the idle switch still closing when the throttle body has a certain degree of opening.
4. The sliding contact of the linear variable resistor has poor contact, and there is intermittent interruption in the output signal of the throttle body position sensor during the process of the throttle body from fully closed to fully open.
